Multimedia training opportunity

Only 40 spots in this class, led by roanoke.com’s Seth Gitner; it likely will fill up fast:
Multimedia Immersion program (May 30-June 2): A four-day intensive workshop training in audio, video and Soundslides for journalists of any ability. Hands-on training and one-on-one time with the faculty of top professionals will allow the learning experience to be tailored to best fit each participant.
Anyone can attend this seminar, Seth explained to me, but it’s geared toward photographers. Makes sense, being a program of the NPPA.
But it got me thinking more about how photographers are taking the lead in soundslides and video; understandably so since the photos are a vital part of the content.
But does anyone know of any training sessions for slideshows and video tailored for those who aren’t photographers (for a living, that is)? Perhaps for reporters or editors? Or Web producers who don’t have a strong background in either area but do know online storytelling? I’m sure there have to be some out there …

Well, we’re doing one for the center for innovation in college media March 29-31 in Nashville, but it’s geared toward college media and advisers. Might be some stuff through poynter.
SND is hosting a quick course in Arizona end of April for soundslides and flash graphics.

Mostly multimedia training is a private affair. I know when am invited to do private training for newspaper journalists, I focus on newer tools and techniques that marry multimedia video and graphics to dynamic databases, Web 2.0 multimedia-enabled blogs, RSS technology, widgets, API’s, commenting controls, discussion forums and online communities. You can do some powerful journalism with these methods.
Thank you both for the suggestions.
